Seeking a dynamic seasonal Viticulture and Laboratory Technician to join our team for the upcoming months. Could you be the perfect fit we've been searching for?

Job Purpose: The Viticulture/Lab Technician will be responsible for supporting vineyard operations and assisting with experimental data collection related to disease sampling. The primary focus of this position will be on meticulous sample collection and potentially assisting with laboratory work. The ideal candidate will have an interest or background in viticulture, experimental data collection, and laboratory techniques. Training may be provided for laboratory tasks, but attention to detail and a strong work ethic are essential qualities for success in this role.

Essential Job Duties:
•  Assist in the collection of vineyard samples for disease monitoring and research purposes.
•  Conduct thorough and accurate sample collection, ensuring cleanliness and precision in the process.
•  Support experimental data collection efforts related to viticulture research projects.
•  Assist with laboratory tasks as needed, including sample processing and analysis.
•  Maintain organized records of sample collection and experimental data.
•  Collaborate with the viticulture team to ensure the timely and efficient completion of tasks.
•  Participate in training sessions and workshops related to viticulture and laboratory techniques.
•  Adhere to safety protocols and procedures in all aspects of work.

Physical Requirements:
•  Must be able to hike uneven terrain in vineyards.
•  Must be able to operate an ATV on rough terrain for extended periods of time.
•  Must be prepared to work in all weather conditions year-round.
•  Must be able to stand, bend and twist frequently and lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
•  Committed to work long hours and many weekends during harvest and other times of heavy workloads.

Qualifications:
•  Bachelor's degree or coursework in viticulture, agriculture, biology, or a related field preferred.
•  Prior experience in viticulture or agricultural research is desirable but not required.
•  Interest or experience in experimental data collection and laboratory work.
•  Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and precision in work tasks.
•  Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
•  Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
•  Willingness to learn and adapt to new techniques and procedures.
•  Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
