Executive Director for the Red Mountain AVA Alliance

The Red Mountain AVA Alliance is a nonprofit trade association representing the grape growers on Red Mountain and wineries producing wines from Red Mountain fruit. The AVA Alliance is overseen by a nine-member, volunteer Board of Directors and the Executive Director will report to the President of the Board.

This is a remote position with flexible work hours, requiring occasional in person attendance at meetings and events in the Red Mountain area as well as potential, infrequent travel within the state. This position is part-time, approximately 20 hours per week, with a one-year contract.

The Executive Director is a leadership role responsible for the day-to-day operations of the organization as well as execution of the objectives set forth by the Board annually to ensure the mission is carried out. The Executive Director will represent the Red Mountain region in its entirety and work to promote opportunities for all members.

Key Responsibilities
1. Strategic Leadership: Work closely with the Board of Directors to execute long-term goals and initiatives that align with the mission and vision of the RMAVAA.
2. Operational Oversight: Manage the daily operations of the Alliance, including but not limited to administrative tasks, financial oversight, and program implementation.
3. Liaison with PR Firm: Act as the primary point of contact between the Alliance and its designated Public Relations firm. Coordinate communication and collaboration on marketing, public relations, and social media projects.
4. Marketing and Promotion: Assist in developing and executing marketing strategies to promote the Red Mountain AVA, its members, and its unique offerings.
5. Member Relations: Build and maintain strong relationships with Alliance members, fostering a supportive and collaborative environment within the Red Mountain winemaking community.
6. External Relations: Represent the RMAVAA in interactions with external stakeholders, including other trade organizations, government entities, and industry partners.

Qualifications:
•  Proven experience in a leadership role.
•  Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with diverse stakeholders.
•  Experience in project management, budgeting, and strategic planning.
•  Familiarity with marketing, public relations, and social media strategies.
•  Basic knowledge of the wine industry, particularly vineyard management and winemaking practices.
•  Ability to work independently and collaboratively with a board of directors.
•  Flexibility and adaptability to changing priorities and evolving constituencies.
•  Proficiency with Word, Excel, Google Suite, and Adobe Acrobat. QuickBooks experience a plus.

Compensation:
The Executive Director position is offered as a part-time contract for one year, with salary of $40,000 - $50,000 commensurate with experience.
