Elevation Winery in Healdsburg, CA is hiring harvest interns for the 2024 Crush!

Located in the heart of downtown Healdsburg, in Sonoma County; Elevation is a custom crush facility that provides space for local winemakers and growers to make their wines from grape to bottle. We have excellent equipment, and a passionate team that enjoys collaborating in a fun, fast paced cellar.
Work typically begins by mid-August and finishes toward the end of October/beginning of November. This past harvest we had wine fermenting until mid-December. As an intern you will see and taste many different red and white grape varietals. These include the noble grapes, mostly from France, but also less known Italian and Eastern European grapes. Many of our clients follow the principles of organic and bio dynamic farming. All our in-house additions are certified organic.

As an intern you will have the opportunity to learn the fundamental science behind wine making, while honing your senses and developing your intuition. We will also be able to visit vineyards to sample grapes and learn about farming practices. And most importantly (for you) you will be able to try our wines in every stage, from grape to glass. We are a few minutes’ walk from myriad tasting rooms and restaurants for you to enjoy on your free time. The Russian river is a summertime favorite for swimming and boating, and it flows right through town. You may even see a river otter. Come experience the beauty of Sonoma County wine country, while making wine!

Primary Duties:
Cleaning: Sanitizing tanks, T-bins and equipment
Grape Sorting
Punch downs, pump-overs and pulsing fermenting grapes
Draining & pressing fermentations
Barrel work
Additions
Lab work, if you have a relevant background or aptitude
Learning, working hard and having fun

Qualifications:
Great work ethic and attitude
Ability to take direction and pay attention to detail
Physically fit
Able to lift 50 pounds
Able to fit inside a standard tank man-door
Previous experience preferred, but not necessary
Forklift experience + certification is a plus
