Paradigm is a small family winery owned by Ren and Marilyn Harris with multi-generational California family roots. Our Oakville property is a self-contained estate, including fifty acres of organic vineyards, a winery, two homes, a warehouse, and an acre of olive trees. We maintain a hands-on approach to all winemaking, vineyards, and hospitality operations. As a small team, we all work closely together to grow world-class grapes, craft authentic wines, and provide guests with a memorable experience. As part of a larger community, we are passionate about eco-friendly farming, environmental stewardship, and the well-being of our community.

When not hosting tastings, the Lead Estate Host will be able to assist with membership management, tasting room upkeep, and shipping. Other duties and responsibilities may be assigned. Our ideal candidate will be a self-starter with strong people skills. This person will provide an enjoyable and memorable guest experience, build strong relationships that promote wine sales and membership to make key sales metrics.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
•  Manage and coordinate flow of all tastings/tour experiences to ensure each group has a private personalized experience. Arrange special accommodation for VIP guests.
•  Build rapport with guests through conversational inquiry to curate the experience to their interests. Tell a tailored story of the people, place, and wines.
•  Oversee day-to-day hospitality operations: Booking reservations, vetting guests, and confirmation phone calls and/or emails.
•  Respond to email and phone requests, assist with packaging wines, and operate and properly manage POS system.
•  Effectively sell wine through in-person and digital sales platforms to meet company’s goals. Build relationships with long-term customers to aid in retention and deliver personalized services.
•  Conduct targeted email sales for specialty items.
•  Act as an ambassador for Napa by making local service recommendations (restaurants, concierges, drivers).
•  Train, lead, and mentor estate hosts to ensure they are delivering an exceptional tasting experience.
•  Ensure scheduling for staff is done to provide attentive guest service.
•  Manage tasting room wine and dry goods inventory to ensure seamless operations.
•  Coordinate with Director of Sales and Marketing (DSM) to develop both employee incentives and consumer sales strategies to meet goals. Oversee performance.
•  Maintain tasting room and hosting space in pristine condition, suggest improvements.
•  Support sales and education efforts by participating in on and off-site events, participate in outreach and industry events to build relationships.
•  Create and manage Paradigm’s social media post & accounts in coordination with DSM.

Basic job requirements:
1. Minimum of 5 years of wine industry sales and hospitality. 1 year in a leadership position.
2. Proficient or ability to quickly learn Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, Commerce7, and other software related to job function.
3. Full range of physical attributes sufficient meet or exceed the job’s physical demands. Willingness to work in adverse environmental conditions.
4. Full body mobility, ability to lift 45 lbs.
5. Willingness to adjust schedule as job demands.
6. Valid driver’s license and ability to operate a forklift.

This position is full time, exempt position. Weekend work is required, and overtime as needed.

Pay Transparency Disclosure: The pay scale for this position is $72,000-$83,000 annually prior to sales commission. These figures represent what we reasonably expect to pay for this position, but the actual compensation offered will depend upon numerous job-related factors, including but not limited to candidate qualifications, skills, experience, education, location, and alignment with market data. The Company reserves the right to modify the range in the future.
