Situated deep in the heart of the rolling hills of Napa Valley’s Carneros District, Hudson Napa Valley has been growing grapes for exceptional winemakers for over 35 years, and today crafts Hudson wines from select parcels on our 2,000 acre estate. We are seeking a full-time Enologist/ Cellar Supervisor to join the company as we look forward to growing & refining our production over the next 5 years.

The ideal candidate will be an experienced wine professional with a positive attitude and an appreciation for the unique environment we have created. Applicants must be able to demonstrate experience being calm and organized under pressure typical to winemaking and harvest. This position requires hands-on work, as well as management of cellar activities.
The responsibilities and duties of the position include, however are not limited to, those listed below.
Responsibilities and Essential Duties:

•  Maintain accurate and timely wine inventory and conduct quarterly inventory reports
•  Coordinate custom crush client cellar work and invoicing for bottling
•  Coordinate with the admin team’s requirements for compliance reporting
•  Monitor and execute all topping and additions in the cellar
•  Manage and execute quality control at all bottlings and filtrations
•  Log all winery actions using the Innovint database through creating and delegating work orders
•  Prepare and facilitate all sampling in the winery
•  Maintain cellar and winery cleanliness
•  Perform vineyard sampling and communication of individual block data during harvest
•  Share weighmaster duties with winemaker
•  Manage cellar and lab supplies
•  Oversee harvest interns and winery safety/first aid
•  Occasional local driving required
•  Prepare bills of lading for all shipping and receiving
•  Operate forklift and other pieces of equipment and machinery


Required Skills & Experience
•  Degree in Enology or Fermentation Science preferred
•  Minimum of 5 years prior experience in comparable role with ample hands-on experience and work in a small-production winery
•  Must be adept in Microsoft Excel and Word
•  During harvest a 6 day work week is expected in addition to extended hours
•  Job is physically demanding with frequent walking, standing for long periods of time, and ability to lift and carry 50 pounds
•  Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record
•  Some Spanish fluency preferred
•  Employee will be exposed to chemicals typical to the winemaking process such as sulfur, acid and caustic cleaners
