Grapewagon Custom Crush is a small, family-owned, state of the art winery located just 2 miles outside the town of Healdsburg, CA. It is also the winemaking home of Wines By James MacPhail (https://www.winesbyjamesmacphail.com/), whose client list consists of a few of the top premium Pinot Noir and Chardonnay producers in CA. WBJM processes ~150 tons each vintage at Grapewagon, ending up with anywhere from 30-40 separate lots. Our other small-batch clients craft Rhone, and a myriad of other eclectic and non-eclectic varieties, and many are also revered as top producers in their field. Quality and attention to detail is paramount.

We are seeking a well-qualified individual for the position of Director of Custom Crush Operations, responsible for the day-to-day operations of managing the winery facility and all client work orders. Our ideal candidate must possess a passion for crafting the best wines possible and a minimum three years premium winemaking experience. This is a great managerial and production position for an experienced Cellar Worker wanting to take the next career step. Our candidate must be able to flawlessly and personally execute the full spectrum of winemaking – from receiving client’s fruit on harvest day, all the way through bottling, while maintaining a clean and professional facility.

Because we are small, family owned, and this person is our sole full-time employee, this candidate must have a positive attitude (humor works!), excellent written and verbal communication skills with both ownership and clients, a strong work ethic (self-motivated), reliable, and a willingness to own the facility as if it were their own. Front of the House demeanor, interacting with clients, is also needed. Being computer literate is a must (we utilize InnoVint Winery software), and being able to navigate and be knowledgeable with Excel, keeping up to date records on the facility as well as each client. This person will also manage three additional interns during bottling and harvest.
