Summer Dreams, a small white and pinot winery in Healdsburg, is looking for a full-time Cellar Master. The person must be able to work alongside a Production Assistant and under remote supervision of senior production staff. This is an excellent opportunity to be part of a growing luxury winery group in a brand new bespoke facility.
Daily tasks include:
- Monthly topping analysis using Foss, Ripper and outside lab services.
- Physical monthly inventory.
- Manage Innovint workorder creation and entries.
- Maintain high-quality winemaking standards.
- Have a complete understanding of wine progression and abnormal occurrences, such as VA, re-fermentation, microbial population changes, etc.
- Hire and oversee Harvest staff and temporary employees.
- Perform Barrel work: topping, SO2 additions, sanitation, moving barrels and equipment.
- Monitor facility and order supplies and keep building maintained.

Harvest Duties:
- Follow all Winemaker’s and senior production staff directives.
- Perform harvest additions and inoculations as directed.
- Manage and track primary and secondary fermentation.
- Cellar work – punchdowns, pumpovers, additions, cellar sanitation, filling barrels.
- Operation of crush equipment and presses.

Bottling Duties
- Racking and blending of wines.
- Operate forklift and move bottling supplies and finished goods.
- Monitoring and keeping track of bottling supplies.
- Create BOL and manage shipping and receiving.

Requirements:

Requires 4+ year’s experience in a similar position
Education: Winemaking Certificate or degree in related field.
Be able to lift 50 pounds
Be available for the Harvest work schedule of 6-7 days per week and 10+ hours a day.
Strong Forklift Experience
