Job Description:

House of Smith is seeking a hard working and enthusiastic individual to join our cellar team for summer bottling, harvest prep and harvest 2024.This Harvest Cellar Associate role is a temporary position starting in July and runs through mid- December. A successful Harvest Cellar Associate will have a passion for their craft and be able to join a fast-moving fun oriented team quickly and seamlessly.

Our well-equipped urban winery is conveniently located in the Georgetown neighborhood of Seattle. Breakfast, lunch, and snacks are provided during the harvest season. Compensation offered $20.00 per hour.

Charles Smith is the visionary winemaker behind iconic brands like K Vintners and Substance. Charles has received 235 scores of 95 points and above and 1123 scores of 90 points and above. Today, House of Smith is the largest independent and winemaker-owned winery in Washington State with wines sold in all 50 states and 23 countries worldwide.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, all aspects of the winemaking process.
•  Barrel work including sampling, racking, topping, cleaning, and maintenance.
•  Bottling
•  Follow specific cleaning and sanitation practices.
•  Operate and Maintain equipment with training.
•  Maintain a safe and clean working environment.

Harvest:
•  Fruit processing - sorting, pressing, barrel down
•  Fermentation management – Cap management, brix and temp
•  Nutrient additions

Job Requirements:
•  Team-Oriented, Punctual and Reliable.
•  Self-Motivated and Energetic.
•  Attention to Detail.
•  Able to lift 50 pounds repeatedly and work on your feet up to 10 hours per day.
•  Willing to work long hours, weekends and overtime during harvest season.
•  Ability to read, understand and complete paperwork accurately.
•  Ability to change focus, duties and activities quickly and with a positive attitude.

Prior experience in our industry is helpful but not necessary.
