Soter Vineyards was founded in 1997 by Tony and Michelle Soter. Our property, Mineral Springs Ranch, is a 240-acre working Biodynamic farm, vineyard, and tasting room in the heart of Oregon’s Willamette Valley.

The accounting clerk is responsible for the day-to-day oversight of accounts payable for the company. This position also provides support for inventory counting and reconciliation, as well as general support for the Soter Vineyards accounting team. This position is part-time (20-24 hours per week), with the potential for full-time for the right candidate.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES & ACCOUNTABILITIES include, but are not limited to, the following:
•  Distribute invoices to department managers for approval and cost categorization, ensuring all invoice approvals are received and entered accurately and in a timely manner
•  Prepare and review accounts payable with Office Manager and mail checks/make payments as part of weekly cash disbursement process
•  File invoices and maintain accounts payable files
•  Set up and maintain new vendors in QuickBooks, completing credit applications as needed
•  Process customer receipts
•  Local errands, including post office for mail collection and bank for deposits
•  Assist with month-end closing duties
•  Assist with monthly inventory counting and reconciliation
•  Issue annual 1099 to all vendors providing services to Soter Vineyards and related entities and maintaining W-9’s for such vendors
•  Monitor office and general supplies, reordering as needed for office and other departments
•  General support for accounting team, and other duties and/or special projects as assigned

•  Exceptional accuracy, organizational skills and attention to detail
•  Ability to multi-task and adjust to priorities to meet deadlines on short notice in an interruptive environment
•  Proficient in Microsoft Office suite, particularly Excel
•  Familiarity with QuickBooks accounting software
•  Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
•  Ability to sit, stand, hear, listen and perform other actions typical of an office environment
•  Enthusiastic willingness to help with tasks and projects outside the normal scope of this job will augment growth opportunities within this position
•  Ability to lift and/or move up to 40 pounds
•  Ability to work in an environment with animals on a working farm

EXPERIENCE includes the following:
•  QuickBooks accounting software and wine industry experience are both a plus
